CD Projekt RED has announced this Tuesday an updated roadmap that includes a wave of new projects, some that we already knew about and others that have just been revealed. Details are not abundant, but we have a more apparent horizon of what will come.

The novelties mainly revolve around ‘ Cyberpunk 2077 ‘ and ‘The Witcher but also include a completely new IP (Intellectual Property). In total, the Polish development studio promises five new games will arrive.

CD Projekt RED Updated Roadmap

As usual in the development stages, the projects are known by their code names, and there is not much information about the commercial terms. Here’s a look at the code names announced today by CD Projekt RED and what we know so far.

Orion. We are facing a resurgence of Cyberpunk 2077. After the large number of bugs that marred its launch, the title has begun to revive, partly due to the patches released by the developers and partly due to the series recently released on Netflix.

At first, everything seemed to indicate that the title would have two expansions, but finally, it will have one called ‘Phantom Liberty’, which is in the final phase of production. However, it will have a sequel. According to Orion, “it will take advantage of the full potential of the Cyberpunk universe”.

At this stage of the project, we do not know the name this sequel will bear or how advanced the project is, but we know that CD Projekt RED will continue betting on Cyberpunk. For this, it has chosen to delegate responsibility to “a new study established in the United States.”

Polaris. Here we are facing a new trilogy of ‘The Witcher. There are currently 150 people dedicated to the project in the pre-production stage. All three games, the studio explains, would arrive within six years of the initial release.

Canis Majoris. A complete ‘The Witcher’ game, separate from the new ‘The Witcher saga that will start with Polaris. In this case, it will be developed by an external studio but made up of part of the team that worked on the franchise’s previous instalments.

Sirius. This project will be a game developed by The Molasses Flood and set in the universe of ‘The Witcher. The big news is that it will offer a multiplayer and single-player experience that includes a campaign with quests and a story.

Hadar. Lastly, we come to the brand new IP. It will be a franchise game created from scratch by CD Projekt RED. We only know that you are in the early stages of the creative process. That is, the development of the game has not yet started.
